Part 2 will be short. So many people I’ve worked with come to me and are distraught because they have a monotone voice. They don’t understand why they sound dead inside when they are in the middle of an ugly cry.
It’s because they don’t open their mouth. Singers know this. The closer your lips, the more restricted your vocal range.
The same is true for speaking.
If you don’t open your mouth very wide when you speak, your voice will sound flat/monotone. So what do you do? Build your facial muscles by over enunciating everything. Open your mouth comically wide as you speak to build those muscles.
You may feel like a cartoon character while you do it, but at least you will start hearing the same vocal range that you feel.
